Introduction
The Overall Concept of Cubic
Cubic is a community-driven game-publishing platform, designed to create an environment where users and Cubic share the decision-making power. To build a better co-governance system on the platform, Cubic plans to implement several measures at different development stages. Below are Cubic’s detailed plans and measures of each development stage.
Phase I: Enlightenment
Introducing Community Participation
At the current and preliminary stage, the simple voting mechanism is introduced to the platform which allows users to participate in Cubic’s decision-making process. The current voting event is a testament to the very goal. In this activity, users vote to decide which games to be put to public testing. Voters whose choices of projects are selected to the testing phase shall receive rewards.
This event is held in the hope that everyone can have a basic understanding of the following principles of Cubic’s community-drive governance:
- Voting is vital for the community, for we wish to build a platform where public wisdom and ideas are gathered to optimize the development of the Cubic community.
- It costs to vote, therefore users with devotion and ability will be distinguished to vote on behalf of the community.
- It pays to vote as well. Users who have voted will receive rewards from the platform.
These principles will run through all the time in the platform, manifesting itself in different forms at each development stage.
Phase II: Development
Establishment of Governance Committees
During this stage, the platform evolves to a more matured one, and the token economy is in operation. ‘Governance Committee + Public Governance’ machanism will be initiated at this stage, based on which important decisions will be made. The Governance Committee consists of Cubic staff and community leaders, along with several Game committees. And all decisions will be made following the voting process of Cubic proposals (CIP).
To participate in governance voting, community members shall possess VeToken at first. The primary way to acquire VeToken is by pledging platform tokens. We will also provide incentives for members of the governance committee who initiate, modify and help to realize the CIPs.
Phase III: Mature
Adjusting Basic Economic Parameters
At this stage when the governance mechanism is nearly matured, the major task of governance will be to adjust the basic economic parameters of the platform, of which the key is the allocation of tokens to mining pools. At that time, we will introduce a natural-selection mechanism to promote real high-quality games.
In this phase, users can vote for their favorite games by pledging their platform tokens and VeTokens, which will affect the production ratio of the mining pool. And users will receive a certain amount of rewards after pledging and voting. This mechanism is built upon the Ve (3.3) model of the game platform, aiming to absorb more users into the community, involve them as much as possible in regular governance affairs and reward them correspondingly.
